Terms of Use.

Who we are
Miseo is made by Quan Dinh, Treuenbrietzener Straße 1, 13439 Berlin, Germany. Contact: quan.dnl.dev@icloud.com. The legal details are in the Impressum, and how we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
Miseo turns a recipe from anywhere into a shopping list, names each ingredient the way the shops around you name it, and shows nearby shops likely to carry it. These terms apply when you use the Miseo app or this website.
The service
Miseo is free today. The cloud lookups described in the privacy policy come with a monthly allowance, today ten a month on each phone; we may change that allowance or pause cloud lookups, for example to keep costs under control. A pause is shown in the app, and everything else keeps working on your phone. We try to keep Miseo running, but we do not promise that it is always available, and features may change or end.
Your account
You only need an account to share a list. You sign in with Apple or Google; keep that account to yourself. You can delete your account in Settings at any time; Delete your account says what goes, what stays, and what happens to the lists you shared.
Your content
The recipes, lists, notes and photos you put into Miseo stay yours. When you share a list or a recipe, you allow us to store it and show it to the people you share it with: for as long as the list is shared, or for 72 hours for a recipe link. We use it only to run the features you use it with, such as telling the members of a list what changed. We show no ads, we do not sell it, and we do not use your content to train AI models. Only share what you are allowed to share.
Recipes and photos from elsewhere
When you import a recipe from a website or from an Instagram, TikTok or YouTube post, Miseo copies it for your own cooking and shopping. It keeps the link and the creator's name, and the recipe and its photo stay the work of whoever made them. Please respect that when you share them. The ingredient and dish photos Miseo ships come from Wikimedia Commons, and each is credited at usemiseo.com/kb/credits.
What is not allowed
Do not use Miseo to:
- store or share anything illegal;
- share content that belongs to someone else without their permission;
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, including through a shared list's name, items or notes;
- get around the cloud allowance or any other limit, for example by automating the app or faking requests;
- attack, overload or interfere with Miseo's servers or anyone else's use of Miseo.
If you break these rules, we may remove the content, end a shared list or recipe link, or close your account.
Reporting content
If you see content in Miseo that is illegal or breaks these terms, or that uses your work without permission, tell us: write to quan.dnl.dev@icloud.com, or use Send feedback in the app's Settings or at usemiseo.com/feedback. Inside a shared list, Report… in the list's menu does the same and tells us which list, and which person on it, the report is about. Say which list or link it is (an invite code or the link itself helps), what the content is, and why you think it should go, and give your name and email address and a sentence saying you believe the report is accurate and complete. We read every report and decide carefully, without undue delay.
If we remove something or limit an account, we tell the person who shared it what we did and why, unless the law forbids it. Both they and the person who reported it can ask us to look again by replying to that message, or go to court. This email address is also our point of contact for authorities and for users under the EU Digital Services Act; we answer in English and German.
AI features
Some features send what you ask about to Google's Gemini model, as the privacy policy's cloud lookups section explains. AI can be wrong. A recipe AI wrote up from a post is marked as AI-generated; whatever AI read or wrote, check it before you cook from it or shop for it.
Food, allergens and shops
Miseo helps you shop and cook; it does not replace your own judgement. Check every ingredient and its packaging for allergens and dietary needs yourself. The local shelf names are a guide: a shop may call something differently or not stock it. Scaled amounts are arithmetic and do not adjust cooking times or seasoning. A shop shown on the map is one that is likely to carry an ingredient, never a promise that it is in stock. Maps and shop details come from Apple, OpenStreetMap and other providers, and may be out of date.
Liability
We are liable without limit for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), under a guarantee we have given, for a defect we fraudulently concealed, and where data protection law makes us liable. For slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an obligation that is essential to the service, one you may regularly rely on, and then only for the damage typical and foreseeable for a service like this. Otherwise we are not liable for slight negligence. These limits also protect the people who work for us.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms, for example when a feature is added. A new version is posted here with a new date, and where a change matters to you, we say so before it takes effect, in the app where we can. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using Miseo and delete your account. You can stop using Miseo at any time. We may end Miseo or a part of it; if we do, we tell you in advance where we can. The recipes and lists on your phone stay there.
Law and disputes
German law applies. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection its mandatory law gives you. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
App stores
If you got Miseo from the App Store or Google Play, the store's own terms also apply, including Apple's standard licence for apps. If Miseo ever offers something to buy, it will be through the store, under its terms.
