FAQ.

The basics

What is Miseo?

An app for cooking a recipe written for somewhere else. It turns a recipe from any source into a shopping list in the words your local shops use, and shows nearby shops likely to carry the items.

Does it cost anything?

Miseo is free today. Lookups that need AI come with a monthly allowance, twenty a month on each phone, and that may change; see the terms of use.

Which shops and languages does it know?

Shelf words in German, English, French, Italian and Dutch shops today. Berlin is where it began, not the limit.

Do I need an account?

No. You only need one to share a list.

Does it work without internet?

Cooking runs on your phone, offline. Fetching a recipe page or looking up shops needs a connection.

Recipes and the list

A recipe didn't import well

Open it and fix what's wrong; every field can be edited. If a page or post keeps failing, send us the link through Send feedback in Settings or at usemiseo.com/feedback, and say what you expected.

An ingredient has the wrong shop name, or none

Open the ingredient and use Suggest it to Miseo. Shop names are a guide, and your suggestion helps everyone who shops where you do.

What are the cloud lookups?

Reading a photo or a video, or finding a dish by name, uses AI in the cloud. That is free twenty times a month on each phone. Everything else keeps working without them, and the count starts again next month.

Shops

Does Miseo say a shop has it in stock?

No. A shop is shown as likely to carry an item. Miseo can't see what is on the shelf today, so call ahead for hard-to-find items.

Sharing

How do I share a list?

Sign in with Apple or Google, open the list, choose Share and send the invite. It works for 48 hours or until you reset it. The owner can remove a member or stop sharing, and any member can leave.

How do I report something?

See Reporting content in the terms of use.

Your data

What does Miseo store?

It is written down in the privacy policy.

How do I delete my account?

Settings, then Delete account. Delete your account says what goes, what stays and how to ask without the app.

The beta

The Play link says “not found”

Google can take one to two hours after you tap Become a tester before Play shows the app. Tap step 3 on the beta page and leave your email: you get one message with the link when it should be ready.

Why 14 days?

Google only lets an app like this launch on Android after 12 people have tested it for 14 days, so every tester counts.

How do I stop testing?

In TestFlight on iPhone, or on the same Google page where you became a tester on Android.

Not here? Write to support@usemiseo.com. One person answers, within a few days, in English or German.
